Description:

Development of a compact computersystem with various features for most mobile computerapplications such as required for cars, trucks and boats.

By using an applicationspecific I/O module, a dedicated featureset can be realized for each unique application. For that the baseunit provides 4 USB 2.0 and 4 RS232 interfaces among others.

ETX
XTX

The baseunit of the system offers a high-speed GPS receiver from uBlox, various standard connections such as USB 2.0, USB link port, optional GSM/GPRS/UMTS modem, wireless LAN, FM radio and various 12V inputs and outputs.

The computer uses a standard ETX or XTX processormodule. These are available with various mobile Intel processors such as Celeron M, Pentium M or Core Duo. But also other processors are possible such as Via Eden or AMD Geode.

Moreover, the computer offers the unique possibility to connect a small (7" to 10") touchscreen monitor with just one cable to the available DVI port. Using this DVI port and the single cable, the monitor is provided with VGA, USB and power. Of course the DVI port is also backward compatible with conventional VGA or digital monitors.

Why:

Almost every available mobile computer system requires additional accessoiries to be really usable. Functions like GPS and power supply controller are seldom available as standard, not to mention a feature like FM/RDS radio. Apart from that, all these computers are still that large that it is neccesary to mount them in the trunk of the car.
This system has all commonly required functions integrated and is also small enough to mount behind the dash of a car or truck, thereby reducing cableclutter.

Custom interfaces:

We can design custom interface boards with backpanel for customized I/O solutions. This can bring you the flexibility of custom design while avoiding the expenses involved with a full mainboard/baseboard design.

Custom baseboards:

When your requirements exceed the possibilities of the Cargo/Unigo formfactor or when you simply want a very specific formfactor, then we can also design a custom baseboard for ETX processormodules. Or perhaps some power electronics is needed? We could modify our baseboard design by extending the length by 80mm, which would give 9.5x8=76cm² for the implementation of that.
